Principal Research Engineer In Pediatrics At BKV

The Position

You will be working on epigenetic studies.

The Person We Need

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in pediatrics or a closely related field. We want you to have:

  • experience in analyzing epigenetic data, multiomics data, and Olink proteomics
  • extensive laboratory research experience, including shotgun proteomics, sample preparation for GC-MS analysis, live cell analysis, cell culture systems, flow cytometry, and exosome research
  • proficiency in R programming for statistical and bioinformatics applications, and practical knowledge of Linux environments
  • experience in scientific writing, including manuscript preparation, submission, and peer review processes

It is considered an advantage if you have/are:

  • experience with immunological techniques such as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunocytochemistry (ICC)
  • academic and research background in molecular pathology, with published work on diabetes, asthma, and immunology-related diseases
  • previous work in epigenetics and Type 1 diabetes
  • familiarity with ABIS and experience in writing scientific articles

Excellent proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, is required. You are flexible, meticulous, and service-minded. You have strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

The Workplace

You will be working at the Division of Children's and Women's Health (BKH), in Johnny Ludvigsson's research group. The group focuses on ABIS, primarily in relation to Type 1 diabetes and other immune-mediated diseases. Collaborations exist locally, nationally, and internationally.

The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the university's largest departments, primarily within the Faculty of Medicine. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine at a high international standard.

The Employment

This is a full-time temporary position for less than 6 months, starting mid-October.
