Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to join our in-office team in Dallas, TX. This role is ideal for a well-rounded IT infrastructure professional with 10+ years of experience who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with a small team to support and enhance our infrastructure across a wide array of technologies. This includes VMware (vSphere, vCenter, VxRail), SAN/storage systems, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint. You will be responsible for leading infrastructure projects, maintaining systems and backups, troubleshooting escalated issues, and collaborating across teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of our IT environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and system implementations.
• Manage and maintain VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, and VxRail systems.
• Monitor and support SAN/storage infrastructure and data center-level server hardware.
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Manage and maintain Azure cloud resources and hybrid environments.
• Administer Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user authentication.
• Ensure regular and reliable system backups and disaster recovery readiness.
• Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure-related issues escalated by the help desk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing IT operations and business initiatives.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement or optimization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, procedures, and infrastructure standards.

Desired Competency, Experience, and Skills:

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, or IT operations roles.
• Virtualization: Expert-level knowledge of VMware stack including vSphere, vCenter, and VxRail.
• Hardware & Storage: Strong experience with SANs, enterprise server hardware, and data center technologies.
• Microsoft Ecosystem: Highly proficient in Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Cloud: Solid experience managing environments in Azure including hybrid infrastructure.
• Directory Services: Advanced understanding of Active Directory, Group Policies, and domain services.
• Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
• Troubleshooting: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills for escalated infrastructure issues.
• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Documentation: High attention to detail with the ability to develop and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Work Style: Self-starter, able to work independently while supporting team goals.
• Location Requirement: This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Dallas office.
