The Office of Service-Learning (OSL) is looking for a design engineer with strong interest in integrating technology design into Service-Learning for the betterment of human conditions and advancement of SDG goals. Successful candidate will lead an award-winning team of social workers, educators, designers and engineers to help students to develop ideas into impactful products. In collaboration with the United Nations University (UNU) Hub on Humanitarian Innovation and Technology (HIT), the candidate will work on a wide range of products, including transparent filtration masks, intelligent wheelchairs, low-cost baby incubator and energy efficient air-purifier. The UNU Hub also aims to harness Asia's innovation capacity, deepens South-South collaborations and foster synergy with UNU institutes worldwide. Successful candidate is expected to work closely with faculty and the service-learning team to develop local and international SL project for students. S/He is also expected to provide strategic directions for product development, market analysis, performance evaluation, GBA partnership, and liaison with industries and professional bodies. The candidate will also play an important role in helping students to participate in local and international competitions.
