Vice President, Ambulatory Operations Transformation

The Vice President of Ambulatory Operations Transformation is accountable for designing, building, and delivering scalable ambulatory operating solutions that address the organization's most critical growth, access, and sustainability challenges. This executive owns the end-to-end solution development lifecycle, translating strategic and clinical requirements into standardized operating models that can be deployed across Lifepoint. Solutions are intentionally designed to address ~75% of enterprise needs, enabling scale and consistency while accommodating necessary market variability.
A Vice President of Ambulatory Operations who excels in this role will achieve the following:
- Lead the design and build of enterprise ambulatory operating solutions that support growth, access, efficiency, and margin sustainability.
- Develop standardized operating models that intentionally solve ~75% of enterprise needs, with structured pathways for local variation.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, and designed for rapid national deployment.
Accelerate the transformation lifecycle from problem definition through design, piloting, and enterprise readiness.
- Establish clear milestones, governance, and decision frameworks to move initiatives forward with speed and accountability.
- Balance speed with rigor to ensure solutions are operationally sound before hand-off.
Partner with operations, finance, clinical leaders, and strategy to ensure solutions align with enterprise growth, cost, and performance objectives.
- Translate clinical and strategic requirements into executable operating models, workflows, and resource plans.
- Design solutions that enable consistent performance across markets while accommodating legitimate business variability.
Maintain ultimate accountability for solution readiness, ensuring clarity on scope, success metrics, and deployment requirements.
- Create implementation playbooks, operating standards, and performance measures to support smooth transition to operations teams.
- Partner closely with operational leaders to ensure solutions are fully embedded and sustained post-handoff.

Applicants are required to have a master's degree, preferably an MBA (business administration), MHA (healthcare administration), or MPH (public health). Additional requirements include:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with a strong track record in multi-site acute care hospital management as well as ambulatory practices and strategic execution (required)
- 5+ years of leading strategic initiatives and complex project/program execution preferred
- Demonstrated success in expanding ambulatory access across a health system, including developing new clinic sites, optimizing existing locations, and deploying innovative care delivery models (e.g. virtual care, retail partnerships, same-day access, mobile units)
- Proven ability to assess market needs, identify growth opportunities, and lead cross-functional teams to launch new access points that improve patient convenience, increase capacity, and strengthen the organization's competitive position
- Track record of navigating regulatory, financial, and operational considerations involved in opening or expanding ambulatory sites, including facility planning, staffing models, technology enablement, and community engagement
