Job Opportunity At Li-Cycle

Li-Cycle is an international company in the field of recycling lithium-ion batteries. We drive the circular economy for critical battery materials – safely, sustainably, and efficiently. Our team in Osterweddingen is looking for dedicated reinforcements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for all production facilities
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and safety reviews in collaboration with occupational safety
  • Coordination and monitoring of maintenance and repair measures, including fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Ensuring quick and efficient troubleshooting to minimize production downtime
  • Cooperation with external service providers and monitoring their performance in maintenance work
  • Evaluation and introduction of new maintenance and inspection technologies to reduce downtimes and reduce costs
  • Leadership and development of the maintenance team, including training and qualification of employees
  • Leadership and development of the disassembly team, including training and qualification of employees
  • Promotion of a culture of continuous improvement and high safety standards in the team
  • Conducting regular performance appraisals and employee interviews
  • Planning and managing the maintenance budget and cost control
  • Optimization of spare parts availability and management of the spare parts warehouse in cooperation with purchasing
  • Creation of regular reports on technical availability and maintenance performance
  • Ensuring the complete and correct documentation of all maintenance and repair measures in accordance with regulations and audit requirements as well as preparation and participation in audits
  • Ensuring compliance with hygiene standards, order and cleanliness as well as the core components of safety, health, and a positive work culture
  • Ensuring the efficient, gentle, and sustainable use of resources (people, machines, materials, etc.)
  • Special tasks and projects

Requirements:

  • Completed technical studies or master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or process engineering, ideally with a focus on maintenance or production technology
  • 3 years of experience in a comparable position in a manufacturing company, preferably in the recycling, chemical, or automotive sector
  • Experience in handling automation and control systems, especially in plants for the treatment and recycling of batteries or other sensitive materials
  • In-depth knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, maintenance technology, and preventive maintenance
  • Leadership experience and ability to motivate and develop a technical team
  • Solution-oriented and structured working method as well as a high degree of self-initiative
  • Fluent German and English skills
  • Excellent technical, communicative, organizational, management, and planning skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and sense of responsibility
  • In-depth analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution, and personnel management skills
  • Results and quality orientation as well as awareness of health and safety
  • Enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations
