HR Generalist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an HR Generalist with 4 years of experience working in a similar role. This is a temp to perm opportunity, located in Bronx, New York.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, short-term disability, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves.
- Coordinate all aspects of LOA administration, from initial intake and documentation to return-to-work planning, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Partner with managers and employees to provide guidance on leave policies, eligibility, and accommodations, maintaining a supportive and legally compliant process.
- Manage employee relations cases, including conflict resolution, performance concerns, and policy violations, ensuring fair and consistent handling.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or workplace issues, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions in collaboration with HR leadership.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on employee relations best practices, helping to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of LOA and employee relations cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and internal standards.
- Collaborate with legal, benefits, and payroll teams to ensure seamless coordination of leave-related pay, benefits continuation, and compliance.
- Monitor trends in LOA and employee relations, identifying opportunities for policy updates, training, or proactive interventions.
- Support HR initiatives and programs, including engagement surveys, performance management, and policy rollouts, with a focus on employee well-being and workplace culture.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of HR experience handling LOA and Employee Relations
