Systems Engineer

The Maritime Systems Division of Leidos is seeking a systems engineer with experience in algorithm development, especially in relation to tracking, Model Based Systems Engineering, test plan and procedure creation, and requirements development. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of systems engineering processes and experience with hardware/software integration. Experience with MATLAB is highly beneficial.

The candidate should work well in a collaborative environment, understand Agile development methodologies, and seek to identify and champion both technical and process innovations. The Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) is a product that supports sensor integration, data and track fusion, and network communications. Tasking and responsibilities will vary depending on project objectives and will extend to programs beyond CEC.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts for CEC and other programs including:
  • Requirements
  • SysML models
  • Test Plans
  • Test Procedures
  • MATLAB models

Responsibilities will also include data analysis of system performance as well as supporting simulation enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Requires BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Proven experience in all phases of Systems Engineering including requirements, algorithms, integration, test, and modeling
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for an effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Possess business and technical vision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability
  • Experience using the Atlassian toolset
  • Experience with Cameo/Magic Draw
  • Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum
  • Experience with track fusion concepts and implementations
  • Experience developing and giving presentations to a government customer
