Are you ready for your next career challenge? The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an Engineering Technologist to work in Ridgecrest CA to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission.
The Engineering Technologist position is responsible for manufacturing and soldering cable sub-assemblies and accurately reading schematics to support production and engineering projects. Provide technical support by performing testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manufacture and solder cable sub-assemblies with precision and quality standards.
- Read, interpret, and apply engineering schematics and engineering drawings.
- Build and assemble complete systems from schematics and engineering drawings.
- Support production and engineering teams with troubleshooting assembly tasks.
- Provide hands-on support to engineers and manufacturing teams by assembling and testing complex radar systems, cables, and electronic subsystems, including advanced CPU Chassis.
- Support disassembly and reassembly of radar systems and integration of upgraded systems, including complex troubleshooting during installation.
- Install, configure, and validate software and firmware on the GPQ-11 and CPU Chassis, ensuring proper integrations and functionality, while ensuring system performance met required specifications.
- Lead initiatives for manufacturing and quality assurance improvements, contributing to efficiency gains such as the recommendation and acquisition of a programmable cable tester.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, supporting various radar and communication system integration and troubleshooting tasks.
- Assist Program Manager in preparing periodic presentation and status reports for Government Customer, compiling up-to-date project data related to manufacturing progress, system integration, and technical milestones.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma with 1 or more years' experience
- Experience with wiring, circuit testing, component inspection and troubleshooting electronic systems and/or components.
- Experience working with teams in a dynamic, complex operational environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (including outlook, word, excel, power point, project).
- Proficient with O-scopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and other test equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in hardware and electronic systems sustainment and support.
- Must have soldering experience.
- Must have experience in operating hand tools, power tools, bandsaw, die grinder and cut-off wheels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in USN Training Range instrumentation and technology sustainment and support
- A comprehensive understanding of the AEWTTR product line and mission
