CGI has an immediate need for a Microsoft Windows Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the non-profit organizations that collects, verifies, and maintains student enrollment and degree data for educational institutions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Windows infrastructure expert who enjoys tackling complex system challenges, driving modernization initiatives, and improving security and reliability across enterprise Windows environments. This candidate excels at automation, architecture, performance tuning, and cross-team collaboration.

The Senior Microsoft Windows Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-scale Windows infrastructure across servers, endpoints, and cloud/hybrid environments. This role provides deep technical expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, patching, automation, endpoint management, and system hardening. The engineer collaborates with security, network, cloud, and application teams to ensure a reliable, secure, and optimized Microsoft ecosystem.

- Lead the design, deployment, and administration of Windows Server environments, including clustering, failover systems, and advanced configurations. - Manage and optimize Active Directory, including domain controllers, forests, trusts, group policies, OU structure, and identity governance. - Oversee Windows endpoint management using tools such as Intune, SCCM/MECM, Group Policies, or hybrid management solutions. - Develop and maintain system automation, provisioning, and configuration scripts using PowerShell and other tools. - Implement and manage security baselines, patching strategies, and vulnerability remediation across Windows systems. - Support virtualization and cloud-integrated Windows environments using VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, or hybrid solutions. - Troubleshoot complex Windows-related performance, authentication, and system reliability issues. - Collaborate with security teams to implement threat protection, endpoint security, Zero Trust, Defender solutions, and auditing policies. - Maintain and enhance file services, print services, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services (AD CS). - Participate in architecture discussions, evaluate new Microsoft technologies, and lead system upgrade/migration projects. - Ensure high availability, system resilience, and disaster recovery readiness for Windows workloads. - Document system designs, configurations, processes, and operational standards. - Provide Tier-3 escalation support and mentor junior engineers.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 7–10 years of experience administering and engineering Windows-based infrastructure. • Expertise with Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and enterprise Active Directory environments. • Advanced understanding of Group Policy, authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP), and identity security. • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation. • Hands-on experience with endpoint management platforms: Intune, SCCM/MECM, or similar. • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred). • Strong understanding of Windows security: patching, hardening, Defender for Endpoint, RBAC, and compliance frameworks. • Experience managing DNS, DHCP, DFS, NPS, and certificate services (PKI/AD CS). • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Desired qualifications: • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Enterprise Administrator (MS-102), Security Engineer (SC-200/SC-300), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ-800/801). • Experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access, Hybrid Join, and cloud-based identity governance. • Automation experience using DSC, Ansible, or similar tools. Background in large enterprise or regulated environments.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $194,000.00. CGI's benefits are offered to eligible professionals on their first day of employment to include: competitive compensation including profit participation program, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, matching contributions through 401(k) plan, and CGI share purchase plan, flexibility and paid accrued vacation leave, ranging from 10 to 20 days per year, based on job level, years of relevant prior experience, and years of service, 10 paid holidays per year, at least 80 consecutive hours of paid sick/safe leave (except where applicable state/local law requires more), paid parental leave, ranging from 20 to 70 consecutive business days based on circumstances of leave and applicable laws, bereavement leave, ranging from 1 to 7 days per year based on relationship, paid jury duty leave, up to time summoned, learning opportunities and tuition assistance, wellness and well-being programs.
