Room Service Attendant

The Room Service Attendant is responsible for delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. They ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high service standards and adhering to hotel policies and hygiene regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Promptly deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms.
  2. Set up and present trays and trolleys according to hotel standards.
  3. Ensure all items on the order are correct and well-presented.
  4. Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  5. Call back after delivering order to check guest satisfaction.
  6. Retrieve used trays, dishes, and carts from guest rooms and hallways.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the room service area and pantries.
  8. Respond to guest requests and communicate special instructions to the kitchen.
  9. Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and hotel promotions.
  10. Report any guest complaints, feedback, or unusual situations to management.
  11. Follow safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.

Education And/Or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in room service or hospitality is an advantage.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
