Operations Manager

Due to company growth we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join our Manchester Depot. Working closely with the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for meeting SLA’s and KPI’s.

Location: Eccles, Manchester

Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required due to the nature of the role)

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

About the Role

We are looking for an Operations Manager in support of our Eccles Depot. This role requires you to work closely with the Depot Manager and operatives to ensure the smooth running of works within the field and on site.

  • Take responsibility for the organisation, planning of work for a team of operational staff out in the field, who are dealing with planned and reactive work
  • Responsible for ensuring that the fleet of vehicles and equipment used are fully compliant with safety legislations
  • Taking responsibility for company vehicles and plant within the contract - ensure that they are calibrated and serviced correctly
  • Liaising with Head Office and Mobile Engineers
  • Ensure that work is completed within a strict timescales
  • Ensure health and safety compliance is imperative
  • Scheduling of work and keeping everyone informed and up to date is crucial
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of operational staff - ensuring that training takes place
  • Working within the office and off site

About You

  • Previous Utilities experience - ideally drainage, however previous experience in construction, civil engineering or reactive maintenance
  • Ability to plan and schedule work with all paperwork for compliance
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience in with H&S compliance with an understanding of fleet maintenance and driver compliance
  • Full UK License with no more than 6 points
