We are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in two-person teams, covering the whole of Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a new career with us here at Lanes Group!
In this critical role, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes' high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Hours: 4 Days On 4 Days Off, 40.25 hours average per week
Salary: £33,000 per annum

About the role: Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities include: travelling to residential sites via a HGV in a two-person team, powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration; cleaning, clearing, and maintaining drainage systems; recording each job report correctly; running diagnostics and repairs on drains; delivering good customer service; maintaining good health and safety practices while carrying out works; ensuring vehicle stock is full and replenished; complying with health and safety responsibilities; utilizing VISTEC and Salesforce platforms; operating JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment; safely accessing vehicle cabs, sites, and offices using correct procedures; manipulating flexible pipework in a safe manner utilizing correct manual handling techniques; working unsupervised in all weather conditions; dynamically risk assessing site access and working conditions; liaising with the client regarding process and any updates; providing support to colleagues; conducting thorough inspections of tools, equipment, and plant before and after use; reporting any defects or malfunctions; carrying out risk assessments; being aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them; and any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties, or projects as requested by management.
About you: The ideal candidate will be hardworking and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, completed certificate of professional competence (CPC), and have an up to date digi tachograph card.
