Director Of Inpatient Services

The Director of Inpatient Services will provide leadership and 24-hour support and accountability for coordination of the safe provision of patient care in the areas of:

Fergus Falls - Med/Surg ICCU, Women's and Children's Inpatient, Wound Care Elbow Lake - Hospital Inpatient, Emergency Dept, Trauma

They will provide strategic leadership for the above referenced departments across the enterprise, including the trauma program in elbow lake. Operational functions include strategic planning, management change, quality improvement, safe staffing, financial planning and implementation. The role is accountable for supporting staff with excellent communication, engaging in process improvements that improve retention and recruitment. This position is responsible for the care of patients across the age continuum including their families and support people. The director of inpatient services must develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the medical staff for strategic planning, process improvement and leadership of the areas they serve. They will also need to establish relationships and work closely with key community partners including ambulance companies, contracted telemedicine services, transport services, local long term care facilities and local public health departments. The director must have excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, must be able to secure cooperation from others, demonstrate public relation skills and exercise good judgement. Effective communication skills are essential for this position.

Compensation the pay range for this role is between $133,000-$171,000 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

  1. Education/special skills: current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of mn. Minimum education preparation baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred or willing to obtain. Master's degree preferred or willing to obtain in 3-5 years with assistance of nursing leadership. 3-5 years' experience in a health care management or nurse leader role. 3-5 years clinical experience in patient care. This position requires current healthcare provider level cpr certification upon hire or must be obtained in 6 months.
  2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
  3. Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled.
