The Youth Support Supervisor is responsible for increasing awareness and understanding of issues among First Nations youth and be the liaison to youth and the services provided by LLRIB. The Youth Support Supervisor shall supervise Youth Support Workers for all LLRIB communities and shall report to the Cultural Program Manager.
The facility is located at the Silver Cultural Building, on Morins Hill.
Prepare statistical & monthly reports; provide coaching and mentoring for staff within the unit, ongoing field orientation of staff; ensure teamwork is being implemented; coordinate and chair program meetings; increase awareness and understanding of issues among First Nations youth; participate in development a youth planning in each community with a goal of inspiring youth to live a healthy lifestyle; Supervise Youth Workers team; other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designate.
Duties:
Qualifications: Certificate in Social Work or health related field, 2 years' experience; combination of equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered; strong organizational skills & able to multi task; experience in facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports; ability to work independent as well as a member of a team; basic computer skills; excellent verbal, written communications skills; experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
