Robotics Engineering Intern

At Labelbox, we're building the critical infrastructure that powers breakthrough AI models at leading research labs and enterprises. We're looking for a curious and driven Robotics Engineering Intern to join our team and help design, build, and test intelligent robotic systems. You'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on projects that push the boundaries of autonomy, perception, and human-robot interaction.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about robotics who's eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and accelerate their learning in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Location: This is an onsite role based in our San Francisco HQ, 5 days in office.

Your Impact:

  • Contribute to the design, simulation, and prototyping of robotic systems
  • Implement and test algorithms for motion planning, control, or sensor fusion
  • Assist with hardware integration, calibration, and system debugging
  • Analyze system performance and propose optimizations
  • Document findings, share learnings, and collaborate cross-functionally

What You Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Solid foundation in robotics principles such as kinematics, dynamics, control, and/or computer vision
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System), C++ and/or Python
  • Comfortable working with hardware (sensors, actuators, embedded systems)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and a willingness to learn
  • Exposure to machine learning for robotics applications
  • Past personal or academic projects in autonomous navigation, robotic arms, or mobile robots

Pay Range (rate per hour): $35 - $40 USD
