Parking Services Officer II

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license and previous supervisory experience.

Position Description: The Parking Services Officer II position has responsibility of enforcing parking rules and regulations in an assigned area of the campus to observe vehicles for parking violations. The use of observational skills to maintain parking lot upkeep and to perform minor maintenance of parking equipment. Professionally handles incoming requests from customers, answer calls from equipment intercoms, communicates via 2-way radio with offices and provides directions to visitors. The position ensures customer issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly, creates a balance between company policy and customer benefit in decision making and identifies opportunities for process improvements to positively impact the customer experience and to represent the department and university in a positive manner. Perform special projects on campus including sign installation, replacement and inventory; parking lot painting. Oversee department vehicle fleet including maintenance schedules and reporting. Responsible for regular maintenance on pay machines and parking equipment and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs. Serve as replacement parking attendant when needed to fill in during illness or vacation. Ability to write and communicate in a clear and concise business-like manner. Provides lead for revenue collection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforcement of University Parking Rules and Regulations.
  • Issue parking citations to the University community.
  • Arrange for towing and/or booting of scofflaws, operates handheld citation writers, computer equipment and two-way radio.
  • Collection of parking revenue from pay devices at multiple locations on campuses.
  • Performing services such as jumping of car batteries and getting keys out of locked vehicles through our Motor Assistant Program.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of parking meters and automatic parking gates. Repairs may include identifying and correcting faulty connections; identifying and replacing faulty components/modules; faulty wire runs and other associated functions; and diagnose and report recommended major repairs.
  • Coordinates parking maintenance projects including painting of parking spaces, no parking areas, traffic control lines, space numbers and other related controls and indicators in surface lots and garages. Install and maintain inventory of parking lot signage.
  • Assist with oversight of departmental vehicle fleet including maintenance schedules and reporting.
  • Provides customer service to the University community while out in the field such as directional questions, building locations, or information about parking rules and regulations.
  • Work special events to provide customer service and fee collection

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of cash handling and customer service experience.
  • Lead shift experience.

Competencies:

  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple tasks until completion.

Compensation:

Target Compensation Maximum: $25.39

Target Compensation Minimum: $16.93

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
