Store Manager Assistant

Support store management in the recruitment, hiring, and training efforts within the store. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Responsibilities

  1. Promote trust and respect among associates and maintain confidentiality of associate information
  2. Refer associates with employment concerns to the store management team and/or to follow the open-door policy
  3. Communicate with store management about current hiring needs and associate training that needs to be complete
  4. Ensure hiring tables are up, supplied, clean, and tidy; hold in-store job fairs and attend external job fairs as needed
  5. Build and maintain hiring system requisitions
  6. Schedule interviews for store leader and department leaders
  7. Complete the new hire on-boarding process including new hire paperwork, I-9s, web-based learning, etc., accurately and timely
  8. Enter new associate information into store systems and enroll associates in the timekeeping system
  9. Issue rewards cards, name badges, training materials, uniforms, personal protective equipment, etc. to associates
  10. Conduct store walks with new and transferred associates
  11. Schedule new, transferred, and promoted associates for training including web-based learning courses and on the job training
  12. Follow up with associates and department leaders to ensure training occurs and to assess progress
  13. Maintain employee files, employee communication boards, and breakroom legal postings
  14. In conjunction with store management, administer drug tests as needed
  15. Participate in human resource conference calls
  16. Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  17. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
Desired
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Working knowledge of employment law
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
