ServiceNow Consultant
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute end-to-end CSDM implementation using the CSDM 5 framework
Assess current CMDB and partially implemented CSDM artifacts and redesign to align with standard CSDM model
Work closely with the client to drive framework adoption through the year
Strong understanding of Business Applications, Application Services, and CMDB relationships
Guide migration from heavily customized Business Applications to standardized Application Service modeling
Identify out-of-the-box (OOB) fields vs. existing custom fields and advise which can be retired
Design and validate correct service and relationship hierarchy
Deep familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB tables, forms, configurations, and OOB capabilities
Ability to explain available fields, data structures, and relationships within the platform
Translate functional CSDM requirements into clear build instructions for developers
Partner with developers for actual configuration/builds (not expected to code extensively)
Act as the primary CSDM point of contact for the client
Support day-to-day design decisions and ongoing refinement
Provide continuity and backup knowledge beyond implementation
Required Skill Set / Experience
Prior hands-on CSDM implementation experience (at least one implementation preferred)
Experience with CSDM 4 acceptable; CSDM 5 experience strongly preferred
Strong CMDB fundamentals: data modeling, relationships, service mapping concepts
Ability to operate as a functional–technical bridge between the business and developers
ServiceNow platform knowledge beyond UI-level administration
What This Role Is Not
Not a pure ServiceNow developer
Not limited to CMDB operational tickets or MID server support
Not a part-time or shared resource
B-Tech/BCA/MCA
Prior hands-on CSDM implementation experience (at least one implementation preferred)
Experience with CSDM 4 acceptable; CSDM 5 experience strongly preferred
Certified Application Developer (Desired)
Other Service-Now Certifications (Preferred)
