Site Reliability Engineer – Sap Platforms (SAP BASIS)

The Site Reliability Engineer – SAP Platforms (SAP BASIS) is continually in touch with the demand management team to understand the demand pipeline and configure Enterprise IT solutions and/or platforms according to the requirements, including RISE with SAP environments, Greenfield and Brownfield S/4HANA implementations, and hybrid cloud landscapes (AWS/Azure).

Accountable for technical design and specification of Enterprise IT solutions and/or platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.

Act as a technical solution provider during the analysis of business requirements, leveraging expertise in SAP Basis administration, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Cloud ALM, and SAP monitoring tools.

Govern configuration changes to Enterprise IT solutions and/or platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, SAP standards, and cloud best practices.

Technical Design

Create fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use technical designs based on demands and requirements, taking both functional and non-functional aspects into consideration, including system performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.

Ensure designs are in alignment with applicable KONE quality and compliance standards (e.g., cybersecurity and data).

Align own solution and/or platform with KONE data models and standards, documenting data objects and models of SAP systems at the technical level.

Stay updated on technology trends (e.g., RISE with SAP, SAP Cloud ALM, hyperscaler adoption – AWS/Azure) and business demand to recommend technical improvements.

Provide technical input for estimation of implementation and change effort in Greenfield and Brownfield transformation projects.

Maintain up-to-date technical specification documentation, accountable for overall quality of SAP Basis and cloud documentation.

Coaching and Collaboration

Provide technical coaching on SAP Basis, RISE with SAP, Cloud Connector integration, and SAP Monitoring/Alerting tools.

Actively contribute to peer coaching and sharing best practices within the Configuration Owner communities.

Ensure IT development, release, and DevOps automation processes are followed.

Actively collaborate with stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and communicate technical design of new feature development, enhancements, and change requests.

Ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of SAP systems across on-premise and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, SAP BTP).

Other Considerations

Responsible for technology management activities and supporting all tasks related to technical health, system upgrades, migrations, performance optimization, and SAP Cloud ALM monitoring.

Play an active role in cybersecurity compliance and audit readiness.

Participate in operational excellence initiatives such as automation of SAP Basis tasks, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning.

Support license compliance, cost optimization, and efficient resource utilization across SAP landscapes.

Deliverables

Technical design and specification documents (for projects and continuous development).

Data standards, technical data models, integration diagrams, and mappings for SAP systems and connected platforms.

Approval of unit test cases and results, performance and security test plans, and system benchmarking reports.

Technical training materials for RISE with SAP operations, SAP Cloud Connector setup, monitoring procedures, and performance tuning guidelines.
