Product Design Engineer

Location(s) ChengDu, Sichuan, Sichuan Company Molex Career Field Engineering

What You Will Do

• Assist in new product design, optimization, and NPI launch debugging under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Supervisor.
• Collaborate with global team to ensure successful NPI launches by:
• Reviewing new concepts with manufacturing teams to assess feasibility and alignment with plant capabilities
• Supporting technical analysis activities including POC, FEA, and Tolerance Analysis
• Proposing alternative design solutions to address gaps in meeting target specifications
• Managing activities related to FOT, FSV, and DVP&R testing
• Support existing products that are already in production
• Provide engineering support for customer quality issues to maintain and improve product reliability
• Assist the plant in driving cost reduction initiatives and yield improvements
• Develop product modifications and series expansions to enhance market competitiveness

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

· 2+ years' mechanical product design experience

• Familiar with product development processes.
• Understanding design tools such as Tolerance analysis, GD & T, DFMEA, and FEA
• Basic knowledge of component design techniques including insert-molding, die casting, sheet metal stamping, and plating
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Detail-oriented, creative, and equipped with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external customers
• Self-motivated and confident in taking initiative independently
• Capable of working under pressure

· Proficiency in English both verbally and written

What Will Put You Ahead

• Work experience in a multinational company preferred
• Connector design experience is preferred
• Understanding of SMT process and signal integrity preferred
• Familiar with component manufacturing environments and knowledgeable about industry quality standards and compliance requirements.
