Step into Your New Role

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will play a vital role in expanding regional opportunities in the Energy market, leading the technical engineering and delivery of our services in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast footprint. Our projects will center on infrastructure improvements for major Utility and Oil & Gas clients, specifically natural gas and electrical transmission/distribution systems, including pipelines and substations. This position is available in our regional Mid-Atlantic Northeast Area that includes Philadelphia, PA, Hamilton, NJ, and Fishkill, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Engineer of Record or Independent Technical Reviewer.
  • Generate professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines.
  • Oversee material quantity take-offs and engineer's construction cost estimates
  • Develop proposals for interdisciplinary engineering and construction services.
  • Drive all phases of project technical execution including alternatives analysis, preliminary through final design, value engineering, quality management, risk identification and mitigation, and safety leadership.
  • Champion staff development through effective leadership, mentorship, and the support of professional career aspirations.
  • Lead and contribute to technical cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to company quality standards and maximizing customer value.
  • Collaborate on design and construction management programs, actively seeking continuous improvement in process development and execution.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal technical and client service teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in civil, mechanical, environmental, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License registered in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania, and the ability to obtain reciprocity in all three states within 6 months of starting date.
  • 15 + years of progressive leadership and professional experience with an engineering or utility firm.
  • Proven track record of developing relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Effective team leadership and collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for supervising, training, developing, and mentoring junior staff.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the New York Wage Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $118,905-$185,702
