Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is looking to add an Environmental Scientist to the team within the Northern California & Pacific Area! This position involves the collection of environmental data from sites in various stages of the assessment and remediation process. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in environmental engineering or geology.

This person will participate in and be responsible for completing varied assignments, including:

  • Task management for environmental investigation or field monitoring
  • Coordination with data managers, project managers, data visualization support, and administrative support for deliverable preparation
  • Interface with project controls team for budget oversight and management
  • Communicate with subconsultants, drillers, utility locators, and contractors
  • Field activities, including groundwater sampling, collection of soil samples, installation of monitoring wells, and performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preparations and inspections
  • Air quality permitting and engineering
  • Identification and evaluation of sensitive receptors
  • Analyzing and interpreting analytical data
  • Authoring technical reports
  • Progressing sites towards regulatory closure
  • Analytical data validation and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)

This role requires working within the context of local, state, federal regulations, client requirements, and as a part of a project team under the direction of a project manager with other staff professionals.

Minimum requirements:

  • 4-8 years of environmental engineering / scientist experience.
  • B.S. degree in geology, engineering, or the environmental sciences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Environmental field sampling experience
  • OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER training
