Financial Analyst

This position is responsible for the top down budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and analysis, for sales, margin and inventory. This role will work cross functionally with the merchandising, planning and other business leaders to drive financial results and improved return on inventory investment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tops down forecasts for all channels of the business. Maintains forecast with at minimum selling KPIs (traffic, conversion, ADT, AUR, etc), inventory, receipts, GMROI, sales and margin by channel
  • Coordinate and communicate financial strategies to cross functional partners for stores and web channels, pricing and promotions, margin targets, product exit strategies, and planning calendar
  • Identify risks and opportunities and develop strategic actions to deliver/exceed financial targets across seasonal and long-range plans
  • Present weekly sales results and recommendations to leadership team
  • Works cross functionality (merchants, planning teams, marketing, etc.) to gain alignment on price/promotions. Ability to articulate impact of pricing/promo on sales, margin and key selling KPIs
  • Manage, develop and analyze robust promotional and pricing testing for all channels
  • Continually monitor inventory levels (reg/markdown/aged) and make recommendations to move or slow down the inventory selling
  • Partners with Merchandising team to provide in depth analysis around the Bed Bath & Beyond Home store conversion. Providing insights around things such as promotional cadence, inventory levels and more
  • Develops in tandem with finance team tops down budgets/preseason plans for sales, margin, inventory and selling KPIs to act as basis for seasonal architecture & financial plan
  • Scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support agile business decisions in a dynamic, purpose-driven retail environment
  • Review and provide hindsight for cross-functional team meetings
  • Gather & support preparation of the OTB meeting materials
  • Champion and demonstrate a commitment to The Brand House Collective Values
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of FP&A and/or inventory planning
  • Preferred 5+ years' experience in retail environment
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in Excel, financial modeling, scenario/sensitivity analysis,
  • Ability to develop strong cross-functional business partnerships and to lead and influence others outside of direct reporting lines
  • A sharp eye for evaluating existing processes and identifying gaps and areas for improvement, as well as the ability to develop and implement new processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas, analysis results, and actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated success leading a high-performing team and consistently producing results that exceed expectations
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail. Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment and re-prioritize with ease
  • Superior professionalism, discretion, and judgment
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
