Tasks and Qualifications:

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Identify possible improvements in the engineering process and provide the supporting documentation
  • Support the sales team during the sales phase through technical consulting, cost estimation, and project schedule creation
  • Ensure that we have the right resources from the Controls Engineering team with the right skills for project execution
  • Act as the main contact for Controls Engineering for project managers, installation managers, procurement, manufacturing, customers, builders, and contractors
  • Lead Controls Engineering project teams through task distribution and reporting
  • Create and update project status reports, financial forecasts, and plans
  • Ensure cost control in Controls Engineering
  • Document, escalate, and manage Controls Engineering project risks and opportunities
  • Ensure that all project quality gates for Controls Engineering are met
  • Conduct regular safety audits on site during construction visits and initiate appropriate measures
  • Ensure that the procurement of materials, the manufacturing of control cabinets, and the tendering for purchased components and services are executed according to the project schedule
  • Lead the design risk assessment and validation in the various implementation phases of the project
  • Ensure the creation of the commissioning plan and the provision of progress updates
  • Transmit the Controls Engineering results and performances to the customer
  • Support the creation of functional specification descriptions and operational descriptions (Description Of Operation) in agreement with the department to obtain customer approval
  • Ensure the creation of the technical project documentation, including user manuals, is complete

Your qualifications:

  • Degree in technical engineering or equivalent training
  • Experience in a similar role in project engineering with touchpoints to budgeting, planning, scheduling, and risk management
  • Experience in an industrial automation environment
  • Experience in leading project teams in complex projects
  • Understanding of PLC and control systems, schematics, and basic electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of ISO standards governing the automated warehousing industry
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time (depending on the project phase)
  • Good communication skills, high organization, and proactive approach
  • Understanding and application of relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and safety standards
