Visualization Engineer Analyst

The Visualization Engineer Analyst level will have these responsibilities:

  • Visualization Design of Material Handling Automation Systems, working independently with minimal guidance, usually from a professional-level engineer, while also coordinating activities according to his/her level of responsibility.
  • Responsible for providing Visualization Solutions.
  • The Visualization engineer will work closely with the Controls Engineer Lead,s Project managers, System Integration Managers, the Customer and the required areas to develop and implement Visualization Solutions.
  • The Visualization Engineer will travel as needed to the site to work on the Visualization commissioning.
  • As a Controls Analyst engineer in Visualization, the engineer will have multiple responsibilities, including administrative tasks, monitoring project execution, and on-site visualization tasks.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Visualization documents as calculations, design specifications, and Visualization commissioning checklist implementation, working independently with minimal guidance.
  • Attend Technical Reviews to ensure complete understanding of the Visualization Scope, critical scheduled dates, third-party, and special technologies included in the project.
  • Review Technical Review information, as control drawings, PLC code, and complementary information to perform Visualization design and Visualization commissioning.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced engineers.
  • Typically has the responsibility for the development and design of multiple projects or single projects with moderate to considerable complexity that are medium to large-sized projects.

An Analyst Visualization engineer will participate in the project staff meetings to collaborate on technical observations for all the visualization projects to pursue on-time and high-quality deliverables.

Schedule Meetings with Project Stakeholders according to project Milestones to complete Project deliverables.

Tasks and Qualifications:

  • Skills and capabilities for the Visualization scope.
  • Design Phase:
    • Tech review, attend the tech review where the Visualization engineer is available to request project information from the controls team.
    • Request licenses for the software to be used.
    • Log in to Maestro, load the project, and create the .json file for the VTool.
    • Import the .json file into the VTool.
    • Create areas, assign objects to each control area, assign operational areas, and create dashboards.
    • Generate and link the generic GDF to the VTool.
    • Create tags for each device in the project.
    • Create tags for the cabinet.
    • Work with any special equipment or third-party software if included in the scope.
    • Extract files for the workbench on the server.
    • Convert GDF to a mobile HMI version for the server.
  • Server Configuration:
    • Request server information (IP) and access with the support of controls/customer IT.
    • Test remote access to the server once it's connected.
    • Move software and project files to the server.
    • Install software and activate the relevant licenses.
    • Configure server(s) as required.
  • Commissioning Phase:
    • Run the tool files in Spyder/Script.
    • Upload the VTool files to the workbench.
    • Clean up the project tags using the quality tool.
    • Check that no enable, jam, or e-stop alarms are missing.
    • Travel to the site. Work on the Visualization commissioning Checklist.
    • Test at least two statuses for each bed on site.
    • Work with controls to verify any alarms that are not working.
    • Coordinate stop testing with controls.
    • Test all special equipment with the support of controls.
    • Update the layout to match the actual on-site installation.
    • Check that reports, dashboards, views, zooms, and all screen features are working.
    • Schedule a training session with the client.
    • Follow up for a few days after delivery.
