Process Engineer Opportunity

The purpose of a process engineer is to design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes so that production runs efficiently, safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

What you'll do as a Process Engineer:

  • Justifies, specifies, procures and installs new equipment.
  • Requires detailed work and planning with maintenance, operations and outside contractors as needed.
  • Responsible for preparing cost estimates, project scope documents, status reports and timelines, evaluating bid proposals and project management for all expense and capital projects, equipment moves, upgrades and installations in your area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for and controls expenditures within limitations of project budgets.
  • Is a technical resource for and works closely with maintenance and operations providing troubleshooting support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Responsible for creating and training on equipment procedures and work instructions.
  • Provides technical assistance for inquiries from Customers, Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing as it relates to designing products for manufacturability.
  • Reviews performance of equipment and tooling to verify their efficiency and safety. Initiates corrective actions for problems and deficiencies.
  • Analyses existing operating methods for improvement opportunities and develops and implements methods to improve efficiency, safety and quality.
  • Must value working safely and follow all site-specific safety practices and procedures as well as possess an understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
  • Assists with the annual capital and operational budget development.
  • Align projects with strategic goals.
  • Manage expectations through regular reporting and clear communication.
  • Foster collaboration and a positive work culture.
  • Encourage open communication and problem-solving.
  • Share knowledge and best practices.
  • Collaborate on shared initiatives.
  • Gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Scope and KPI's include:

  • Support achievement of the following manufacturing KPI's:
  • Cost per deck maintained below budgeted level.
  • Meeting or exceeding the annual quality goals for severe defects and defects per million.
  • Support achievement of annual LEAN savings goals.
  • Support achievement of OEE and shift production goals.
  • Support achievement of annual safety incident goal.
  • Support achievement of annual plant and department operational budget goals.

We're looking for a Process Engineer with:

  • BS in Engineering or Technology Degree preferred, but other related engineering degrees may be acceptable.
  • 0 - 2 years of applicable work experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably high-speed) troubleshooting process equipment and implementing capital projects.
  • Must be a detail-oriented individual.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with engineers, business managers and equipment operators.
  • Effective uses of Auto-Cad and MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook e-mail for reporting and communication. SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate and communicate results and recommend improvements.
  • Must be able to reason sufficiently for decision-making on an independent basis.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

  • Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:
  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues. May climb steps or crouch under machines to investigate their operation and like similar situations.
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends as may be required.
  • This position is located on-site in our Erlanger, KY facility.
