Mig Welder

We are seeking a skilled MIG welder who embodies core values and beliefs, prioritizes safety, and demonstrates proficiency in welding techniques. The ideal candidate will be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure project requirements are met with precision and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble metal parts using tools such as saws, grinders, and torches.
  • Fit, position, and prepare metal parts for welding.
  • Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment in good working order.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to check weld quality.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Identify defects in welding equipment and perform minor repairs or maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot problems during the welding process and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Complete reports and documentation as required.
  • May operate specialized machines to manufacture needed parts.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as a fitter/welder in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Shelbyville, KY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
