Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation

We're seeking a driven and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering operations at a power generation facility in Winchester, KY. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll manage complex projects focused on preventative maintenance, process optimization, and system reliability. You'll be the sole engineer on-site, directing technicians and operators while reporting progress to leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering initiatives to improve plant performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute work plans aligned with strategic and budgetary goals.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with vendors, contractors, utilities, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze performance data and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Design and implement plant upgrades, prepare technical specifications, and evaluate bids.
  • Oversee project execution and ensure successful completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical direction to contractors and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in power generation, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial environments.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple assignments.

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site role in Winchester, KY. While flexibility exists for completing paperwork remotely, availability during outages or critical events is essential. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $191000.00/yr. EKPC offers a wage and benefits package that ranks among the best in the state.
