Manufacturing Engineering Tech

Job Title

Position Purpose: Support the weld/fab processes in the facility, troubleshoot and assist in problem isolation and solution. Provide back-up support to paint/assembly and machining areas as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Apply concepts and details of gauging, fixtures and tooling to assist in problem solving.
• Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences, or forming consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality.
• Help in maintaining and control part programs for all weld/fab areas.
• When necessary, help to evaluate existing tooling and fixturing to determine optimum method of repair or improvement.
• Provide support to production associates as they assume greater responsibility in manufacturing functions.

Education & Training: Five to seven years' experience in manufacturing facility. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to interpret prints sketches, verbal instructions, and mathematical data to identify tooling, gauging, and fixturing. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Formal training in robotics systems, CNC controls, machining, and SPC. AutoCAD experience a plus. Evaluate tooling and fixturing to determine optimum method of repair or improvement. PLC programming knowledge. Shift flexibility a must. FANUC Robotics background preferred. Welding Experience is a plus.
