Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with configuring, validating, and releasing new models, as well as implementing engineering changes on existing production equipment. This position requires the execution of predefined procedures and work instructions to ensure accurate setup, documentation, and production readiness. Collaboration with multiple departments is essential to ensure information accuracy and adequacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and validate new models and engineering changes on production equipment.
  • Execute predefined procedures and work instructions for setup and documentation.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure accurate information transfer.
  • Ensure production readiness and quality control.
  • Assist with manufacturing equipment installation, including gathering quotes and project management.

Essential Skills:

  • Manufacturing engineering expertise.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience with C++, Visual Basic, and surface-mount technology.
  • Familiarity with electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with plant layout and CPK studies.
  • Understanding of kaizen and fixture design.
  • Fanuc robot programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and HMI's.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.

Work Environment:

The work environment is within an electronic manufacturing facility, primarily in a clean-room setting, requiring smocks and ESD shoes. The organization is large, necessitating cross-functional collaboration with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The role involves a mix of on-floor and desk work depending on project requirements, with 14 SMT lines and 9 engineers in the group. The position offers 6 paid holidays and 10 accrued PTO days for additional shutdowns or time off within 12 months.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
