Process Engineering Position

Position Summary: Perform process engineering assignments associated with designing process, developing equipment requirements, control schemes and overall process project requirements. Generally referred to as a lead position; it is the first level which includes responsibility for technical direction over a group of engineers or who functions as a technical specialist, Subject Matter Expert (SME), formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts.

Responsibilities:

  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs
  • Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering
  • Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships
  • Math skills for using the principles of advanced math topics
  • Lead team of Process Engineers
  • CDI recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in chosen area
  • Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines
  • Advanced experience with Industry Standard Engineering Simulation Software
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting budget and schedule
  • Mentors all Process Engineers
  • Participates in Business Development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Independently prepare specifications for project assignments
  • Prepare engineering sketches, perform calculations and develop analysis models
  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients
  • Set realistic expectations and ensure projects are completed
  • Adhere to CDI and client company quality standards
  • Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards
  • Actively participate in company and client hazard identification programs
  • Interact with drafting/design group to develop and review engineering
  • Visit jobsites to evaluate site, project requirements, and
  • Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance
  • Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions as well as bid tabulations
  • Adhere to safe design practices, while focusing on identifying cost saving
  • Plan and manage workload, budgets and project resources
  • Develop, review and/or approve conceptual and detailed engineering design
  • Assess feasibility of projects by assessing materials, costs and time requirements
  • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and/or construction schedules
  • Analyze and examine different strategies, equations and applications
  • Resolve design and development
  • Manage client relationships and develop repeat business
  • Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates, and Total Installed Cost estimates
  • Lead medium to large scope multi-discipline projects
  • Provide feedback to immediate supervisor regarding co-worker's performance
  • Provide advice and assistance on work techniques, best practices, and subject matter expertise
  • Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge

Qualifications Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the field of Chemical Engineering, in the petrochemical and or specialty chemical industry.
  • Professional Engineering license in resident state

Preferred:

  • SE Registration
  • Master's degree or higher
