Inventory Support Technician For AWS Outposts

As an Inventory Support Technician for AWS Outposts, you will support our hybrid cloud solution that extends AWS infrastructure to customer locations. AWS Outposts delivers native AWS services and infrastructure to data centers, co-location spaces, and on-premises facilities, enabling a consistent experience across cloud and local environments. You will manage global spare parts inventory and support supply chain operations to maintain high availability for AWS Outposts customers.

This role serves as a primary contact for the worldwide Outposts Operations team, requiring swift action and clear communication across time zones. You'll process inventory orders, coordinate transfers, and maintain standardized processes across global locations. The position demands strong multi-tasking abilities, as you'll often juggle multiple time-sensitive requests simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures. Your ability to prioritize tasks effectively and switch between different responsibilities seamlessly will be crucial for success in this dynamic environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Management
    • Process and track purchase orders for data center hardware components
    • Monitor spare parts inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders
    • Maintain accurate records in internal ordering databases
    • Execute asset transfers across global locations
  • Order Processing and Communication
    • Track order approvals and provide timely updates to stakeholders
    • Identify and report shipment issues, including delays, cancellations, and expedited requests
    • Manage shipment label distribution for new equipment and returns
    • Coordinate with global teams to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issue

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
  • Experience with order processing and purchase order management systems, using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or inventory management software
  • 2+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience; internal candidates must be at an L3 level for consideration
  • Track record of implementing process improvements in a fast-paced supply chain environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, plus experience with cloud-based inventory management systems
  • Demonstrated experience working with global teams and managing cross-region logistics operations
  • Track record of implementing process improvements in a fast-paced supply chain environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $36,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $66,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
