Mechanic

The mechanic ensures the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on production machines. This role involves following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, as well as troubleshooting any malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, move, assemble, install, weld, and repair industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
• Use hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools to dismantle equipment and machines.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.
• Construct foundations and align machines.
• Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for issues.
• Use precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
• Control downtime through effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
• Travel to other locations may be required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
