Director, Scheduled Maintenance and Outside Services

Directs the aircraft scheduled maintenance events planning, process review, and performance assessment. Is responsible for Landing Gear program management. Oversees the scheduled maintenance performance improvements, end-to-end process development (multi-departmental), and operational and financial reporting at Polar and Atlas Air airlines. Supports the Director of Heavy Maintenance as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the implementation of status updates in line with all maintenance operations protocol (MOP).
  • Ensures that maintenance planning is fully integrated with production planning through a matrix reporting ("dotted line") relationship with Production Managers.
  • Analyzes the check data to review aircraft condition and operating schedules. Plans maintenance activities and ground time requirements along with all AAR (After Action Review) data to ensure continuous improvement in TAT, parts availability, tooling requirements, manpower requirements, and inventory management.
  • Key stakeholder in the development of Reliability Improvement initiatives to drive increased technical performance.
  • Coordinates the interfaces with manufacturers, maintenance representatives, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, outside engineering departments, regulatory personnel, and other outside agencies.
  • Manages the Landing Gear program planning, shop, budget scheduling, and logistics.
  • Directs the process improvement efforts for all activities related to scheduled maintenance, including the feeds from other departments that support this effort. Synthesizes these recommendations and integrates them into a strategy for process improvement.
  • Reviews maintenance service agreements prior to execution and assures deliverables are met within quality standards. Additionally, plans, coordinates, and oversees all contracts, including Maintenance Training, Maintenance Planning, Purchasing and Material Management, and Engineering related to scheduled maintenance.
  • Oversees adherence to the budget plan, and reports on status for all scheduled maintenance (A Checks, Heavy Checks, and Conversions).
  • Oversees the operational and financial reporting metrics of all scheduled maintenance events.
  • Directs the startup of new scheduled maintenance facilities and oversees the facilitation evaluation process with all departments.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Leadership of Scheduled Maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 8 - 10 years of related major maintenance experience is required.
  • Airframe and Power Plant licenses.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving positive results with outsider maintenance organizations.
  • Proven experience in holding outside vendors accountable for their performance against contractual requirements.

Salary Range: $115,500 - $164,500. Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
