What this job involves:

Do you have experience with building infrastructures? Do you provide yourself on providing top-notch customer service? We want to hear from you! We have an immediate need for a Building Engineer to support our client which is located in the beautiful Old Forester Distillery on historic Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. This building was renovated in 2017 and is one of the most popular tourist sites in the area!

In this role, you will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems including oversight of contractors and the IFM program. You will have the ability to work with both the distillery tour and production staff in a shared effort to enhance the guest experience.

You will demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and Central Utility Plant Operations to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments including assisting management as needed.

What does your day-to-day look like?

Safely operate the facility in accordance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate safe behaviors. Identify and assess safety hazards and risks Follow and enforce safety rules. Participate in the investigation of incidents

Perform maintenance, and monitor repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards

Maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, and changing parts to maintain the HVAC systems and associated equipment

Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment

Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors

Review monthly client service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems

Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Assist the site Facility Management team with emergency situations such as fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous conditions, and take appropriate actions

Experience and technical skills:

Required:

High School diploma or GED

4+ years of experience in the building maintenance industry including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and central utility plant operations

A valid state-issued driver's license

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred:

2+ years of trade school or college

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and 24/7 on-call. Typically called in weekly, and overtime is compensated
