Applications Engineer

An excellent opportunity has become available to join Kennametal as an Application Engineer. The Application Engineer will be responsible for evaluating our customers manufacturing needs and providing a complete engineering solution with associated costs.
Working with our customers, you will engage in customer-facing activities such as troubleshooting and providing technical support to sales and other departments. The successful candidate will be competent with 3 and 5 axis programming and be able to provide advice on fixturing (workholding & tooling), and machining processes.
This will require a sophisticated level of technical expertise that will include experience of manipulating solid models, working knowledge of various materials, and knowledge of a variety of machine tools (Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Grob, Heller, SW, etc).
Responsibilities
- To effectively manage specified projects that involves evaluating customers manufacturing needs and providing solutions.
- To maintain a thorough working and application knowledge of all company products, and Services.
- To acquire and develop all necessary professional sales knowledge and skills in accordance with the company personal development and training programmes.
- Effectively prove out performance of specified tooling within a production environment.
- To maintain a thorough working knowledge of Company's CAD / CAM software Solutions.
- To compile and present professional Project documentation to customers in order to achieve a positive sales result. This documentation may include, but not limited to, Solid Modelling, Process Sheets, Tooling Sheets, Time Studies, Cost per Part Evaluations, and / or Tooling Quotations.
- To ensure all activities are conducted in a professional, confidential and ethical manner.
- Other duties that may be agreed to enhance the company's image and performance.
Typical Education and Work Experience
- A recognized qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or time served apprenticeship.
- Experience within the metal cutting or precision tooling industry.
- High level of competence using CAD, CAM.
- 5 Axis Unigraphix Turning and Milling advanced programming capabilities working with special alloys.
- An in-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry and concepts associated with Kennametal Products.
- An innovative and self-motivated individual who is able to work independently with little supervision.
- Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Excellent command of the English language.
Base Location
Home based in Rzeszow.
