Duties, Responsibilities & Other

As a Data Support Specialist, you will:

  1. Interpret engineering plans and related documents to georeference, digitize, and compile attributes of physical features
  2. Perform editing tasks including loading, extracting, reconciling, and compiling data
  3. Perform data quality control tasks
  4. Implement efficient data collection strategies
  5. Perform required data cleaning and manipulation prior to analyses
  6. Identify and troubleshoot data problems or unexpected results and provide solutions to resolve identified concerns
  7. Work within and make appropriate updates to existing schemas
  8. Support analysis and presentation of data
  9. Identify, extract, clean, transform, validate, and model data using various technologies and languages
  10. Collect information in the desktop and field environment
  11. Perform field verification utilizing data collection applications
  12. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of managers, analysts, engineers, and customers to identify and develop project-specific workflows and how best to present them
  13. Work onsite at customer office locations and in the field, as needed
  14. Stay current on latest technologies and methods
  15. Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  16. Complete other duties as required/assigned

Qualifications

Education, Skills and/or experiences required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is required. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Knowledgeable of data analysis methods and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases
  • Familiarity with current data and analytics platforms and tools
  • Demonstrated experience to learn quickly and apply new technologies to solve problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain deep knowledge of customers, data, business, and markets
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers, both written and oral
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.

Education, Skills and/or experiences preferred:

  • Experience in utilities, facilities, transportation, water, construction, and/or state/local government markets is preferred
