Structural Engineer - Work Group Lead

KBR is looking for a Structural Engineer - Work Group Lead to join our downtown Houston based team!

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of engineers.
  • Plan, budget, organize, coordinate, and control the project.
  • Responsible for design, specification, and services related to structures and foundations made of concrete, steel, wood, or engineered products for structures, platforms, bridges, pipe racks, buildings, etc.
  • Responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include various complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of traditional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 10+ years of structural experience with an EPC company or Operator, with average experience ranging from 10-15 years.
  • Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional.
  • Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.
