Space Operations Program Manager (Part-Time)

KBR is seeking a highly motivated, experienced part time Space Operations Program Manager with Business Development experience to support and grow an expanding Space portfolio. This part time position is responsible for driving growth across current programs while positioning future efforts for competitive wins. The role combines program execution support, customer engagement, and capture support to improve business performance and expand KBR's space footprint.

This individual will develop and implement growth strategies that are leveraged by senior leadership to improve program performance, mature the organization, and enable scalable growth. Efforts will be focused on personnel, processes, and systems—both internal and external—to strengthen execution, knowledge management, and capture readiness across the portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

Portfolio Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute growth strategy plans for existing and future space programs
  • Support capture and expansion activities for recompetes, task orders, and new opportunities
  • Identify white space, adjacencies, and cross-portfolio growth opportunities
  • Partner with Business Development and Capture teams to support pipeline maturation and win strategies
  • Assist with customer engagement strategies and solution shaping efforts
  • Conduct current-state assessments of organizational readiness to operate as a knowledge-driven organization
  • Gather and analyze information related to organizational strategy, mission, processes, and systems
  • Conduct interviews and working sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Document process flows, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Lead or support business process re-engineering efforts (e.g., standardized naming conventions, data/file management, knowledge repositories)
  • Assist Program Managers with cost, schedule, and performance management across active programs
  • Support development and maintenance of Program Management Plans (PMPs)
  • Provide support for risk, issue, and change management processes
  • Assist with staffing strategies, workforce planning, and personnel management across programs
  • Support program performance improvement initiatives and corrective action efforts as needed
  • Assist with development of Bases of Estimate (BOEs) and cost inputs
  • Support proposal development, including management volumes, execution approaches, and staffing strategies
  • Participate in color teams, reviews, and capture working groups
  • Ensure execution approaches are scalable, compliant, and aligned with customer expectations

Basic Qualifications

Masters degree and 12+ years of program or project management experience within DoD, space, intelligence, or related mission areas

Active Secret Clearance

PMP certification

Experience supporting programs with $20M+ annual value and teams of 100+ personnel

Current understanding/experience performing DoD acquisition, contracting, finance, budgeting and technical review processes for the Government or within industry

Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and organizational skills

Ability to work in secure, high-tempo operational environments

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced STEM degree

Salary Range

$130,800 - $259,200 The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
