Senior Ground Systems Engineer

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role – protecting our national security.

KBR is seeking experienced Senior Ground Systems Engineers to support the US Space Force (USSF) in architecting, developing, testing, and accrediting ground control segments for programs within the Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power (SSC/CP) Directorate. Positions are located in El Segundo, CA and Herndon, VA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying expertise in technical recommendations made in program documentation on ground control segment architectures.
  • Developing and documenting program ground architectures.
  • Supporting various systems architecting and engineering activities.
  • Managing ground segment technical and interface requirements.
  • Supporting development of systems engineering items.
  • Developing, updating, coordinating, and collaborating with program support team.

Qualifications required include:

  • Master's in Engineering or related discipline and 12 years or more of experience.
  • Deep understanding of mission planning at all levels.
  • Knowledgeable with government Deficiency Review (DR) processes.
  • Fluent in the fields of DoD Information Assurance processes.
  • Experience with technical program management, systems engineering, and government acquisition.
  • Proficient in Software Systems Engineering, Design, and Architecture Development.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Desired:

  • 5 years of experience in DoD software acquisition programs.
  • Expertise in ground antenna architectures, frequencies, spectrums, and transmission rates.

Basic compensation: $165,000 - $185,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
