KBR is seeking a Mission Operations Support Team (MOST) Engineer to support the Space Weather Follow-On L1 (SWFO-L1) mission under the Ground System and Mission Operations (GSMO-3) contract. This role supports NOAA, NASA, and GSMO-3 by providing mission operations, post-launch testing, commissioning support, and contributing to the success of SWFO-L1 mission goals.

MOST engineers participate in commissioning and routine flight operations as delegated by the MOST Lead Engineer. Mission Operations Teams provide 24x7 shift staffing and support across key areas including:

  • Health and Safety Monitoring
  • Mission Planning and Scheduling
  • Network Scheduling
  • Space-to-Ground Communications and Networks
  • Communications Security
  • Maneuvers
  • Data Distribution
  • Simulations

The successful candidate will have prior experience and domain knowledge:

  • Prior experience supporting NOAA or NASA missions, specifically SWFO-L1 or GOES-R Series as a Mission Operations Engineer
  • Familiarity with SWFO-L1 Concept of Operations (ConOps), Mission Phase Plans, and Flight Operations Plan (FOP)
  • Experience in real-time health and safety monitoring, telemetry processing, commanding, mission planning, and secure communications
  • Knowledge of NOAA software tools such as OS/Comet
  • Experience supporting mission reviews including Post-Launch Test (PLT), Transition Readiness, and Anomaly Reviews
  • Experience with NOAA Mission Operations Team training and certification

Education & Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field with 12+ years of progressively complex spacecraft mission operations experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field with 18+ years of relevant experience

Additional Information:

  • A security clearance is not required, but may be beneficial
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • This position may require shift work as part of 24x7 mission operations support

Basic Compensation: $162,500.00 - $243,800.00

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
