Information Technology Technical Support Specialist

KBR is seeking a multi-discipline Information Technology Technical Support Specialist to join our team in support of Facility Unique and Specialized Engineering Support (FUSE) projects at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility under the Range Operations Contract (ROC). This position is responsible for the ongoing technical support of various facility information technology, applications, and network systems. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed technical knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.

The individual is responsible for technical support and/or integration of systems in relation to RF distribution, A/V support, telemetry data transport, emergency notification, radio systems, surveillance and mission voice platforms required for mission operations.

Responsibilities include planning, designing, integrating, testing, troubleshooting for assigned projects/tasks. The individual may serve as an assistant point of contact to the code 780 IT FUSE support required by programmatic and mission support. Also serves as on-console support for mission launches to coordinate immediate service area response.

Required Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or evaluated equivalent) in related field and 2 or more years of related experience

Skills:

  • Proven ability to research and problem solve, both independently and within a team environment
  • Proven ability to be hands-on with technical equipment for installation, test, and validation
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and last-minute requests
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow complex procedural documentation and guidance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work directly with client, teammates, business partners, end-users, and other stakeholders

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with TCP/IP networking, multicast, switching, and general system integration principles
  • Experience troubleshooting end-to-end signal/data paths across RF, IP, fiber, and application layers
  • Certifications are evaluated if presented

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
