Environmental Services Supervisor – Full-Time (Evening/Night Shift)
Location: Burlington, VT Area (On-site) Schedule: Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly) | Variable hours between 1 PM – 2 AM (Typically 8-hour shifts) Pay Range: $20.00 – $28.89 per hour Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 Additional Compensation: Shift differential available for evening/night hours
Position Summary
We are currently seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to support the leadership team in ensuring a clean, safe, and high-quality environment throughout our healthcare facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a background in environmental services or facilities operations, especially in a healthcare setting.
You’ll supervise daily operations, train and mentor staff, maintain compliance with hospital cleanliness and safety standards, and contribute to a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily Environmental Services (EVS) operations across various hospital departments.
- Conduct quality rounds and ensure high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
- Support hiring, training, and onboarding of new EVS staff.
- Manage and adjust staff schedules and assignments as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and task checklists.
- Send weekly communications and maintain staff bulletin board updates.
- Model excellent customer service and foster a positive team environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, infection control, and cleaning best practices.
- Floor maintenance, general housekeeping, and safety compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must be insurable under company policy.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Frequent walking, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling (up to 55 lbs).
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and varying weather conditions.
- May use industrial cleaning equipment (auto-scrubbers, extractors, vacuums, etc.).
- Required PPE: gloves, masks, goggles, gowns, etc., based on job duties.
