Location Description: The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.

Responsibilities

This opening is for our D Shift which works the following schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and every other Friday 6:00pm-6:00am Shift premium: $1.50 per hour

Responsibilities: The Shipping Operations Lead will coordinate the activities of warehouse employees on shift ensuring that materials / ingredients are received and that products are shipped in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner to satisfy customer needs. Practicing under Good Manufacturing Practices and Regulatory Food Safety Program. In the Shipping Operations Lead role, you will:

• Coordinate warehouse activities on a shift basis to ensure optimum utilization of warehouse resources and obtain maximum production efficiency, quality and safety to provide for safe, timely, accurate and cost-effective distribution of product to customers
• Provide feedback and direction for improved performance and work team development
• Assist with and participate in warehouse training programs and on-the-job training to provide more proficient operations
• Ensure consistency across all shifts by maintaining adherence to procedures and best practices
• Assist in the direction and coordination of continuous improvement projects in the warehouse
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety

Qualifications

The successful candidate(s) for this role will have the following qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or a GED
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse or distribution experience is required
• Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed
• Ability to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions
• Good communication skills, including the proven ability to give and receive feedback
• Proven ability to provide leadership and prioritization in designated area
