General Function: Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, and ensures that customer's needs are met. Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees or performs the work of all job levels. Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results oriented, customer focused, and professionalism. Reporting relations include accountability to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations, and eCommerce.

Primary duties and responsibilities include maintaining a positive attitude, creating a friendly atmosphere through flexibility and teamwork, providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, supervising and coordinating activities of employees, learning to formulate pricing philosophies, ensuring proper customer service, evaluating employee performance, training and enforcing safety procedures, compiling and understanding managerial data, ordering and verifying merchandise, training workers, ensuring compliance with policies, and determining ad and promotional displays.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include determining motivational needs, staying current with market trends, providing continuous education, selling merchandise, handling cash registers, recommending cost reduction programs, reviewing personnel records, recommending merchandise allocation, assisting in other areas, and performing other job-related duties.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include problem-solving, arithmetic calculations, interviewing, guiding people, following technical manuals, and increased contact with people. Education and experience include high school or equivalent and two years or more of similar or related work experience preferred. Supervisory responsibilities include instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning the work of others, maintaining standards, allocating personnel, and coordinating the activities of others. Physical requirements include medium work, visual requirements, and various physical activities. Working conditions include exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes, and possible equipment movement hazards. Equipment used includes pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, and more. Financial responsibility includes purchasing merchandise and supplies and ordering repairs. Contacts include daily contact with customers, employees, suppliers, vendors, and the general public, and occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies. Confidentiality includes access to pricing, sales reports, profit and loss reports, and wages. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
