This position is with the Council on Aging department at Leavenworth County. The salary is $18.76 per hour. This is a non-exempt position supervised by a Program Specialist II.
The primary responsibilities include supporting the Pets and Loving Seniors (PALS) and Pet2Vet programs with tasks such as delivering supplies and transporting clients and pets to veterinary appointments. This is an intermittent on-call position with no more than 1,000 hours per year.
Knowledge and skills required include handling pet interactions safely, strong communication skills, organization, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and maintaining accurate records.
Human relations skills include effective communication with clients, agencies, and co-workers, and maintaining a professional attitude.
Illustrative tasks include delivering PALS program supplies, transporting pets to veterinary appointments, and promoting agency programs.
The work environment includes a modern, smoke-free office setting with occasional outdoor work. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, computer proficiency, ability to pass a background check, and two years of experience in customer service and general office work.
ADA/physical demands include vision, hearing, speech, and various physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and handling.
