This position is mission critical to ensure that medical supplies and equipment are available for EMS field crews so patient care can be delivered. This position also works with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to ensure the logistical needs of the division are fulfilled in areas of medical supplies, medical equipment, facilities, duty uniforms, and ambulance maintenance.
- Maintain EMS Central Medical Supply facility by inventory control, physical inspections, and computer comparisons.
- Distribute mission critical supplies and equipment to outlying hospitals and EMS Posts.
- Perform daily and weekly checks on all medications, medical supplies, and medical equipment used by EMS, looking for any deficiencies.
- Assist in forecasting for highly used items or expiring medications to maintain mission critical inventory.
- Receive medications, medical supplies, and durable medical equipment from various vendors.
- Keep accurate records and maintains database of all medications and medical supplies that are distributed to area hospitals and EMS Post.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs and assists in maintaining EMS facilities.
- Will perform minor maintains, repairs and services ambulance module, including interior/exterior lighting, cabinetry, exterior/interior compartments and cot mounting systems.
- Assist with testing, diagnostics, calibration, and repairs for 12-lead monitors/defibrillators, ambulance cots, AEDs, portable suctions, and all related medical equipment.
- Track maintenance and repairs in a shared database, generates reports on service repairs.
- Assist with inventory management of all durable medical equipment on all ambulances and support staff vehicles.
- Assist in evaluating, managing, and maintaining EMS uniform inventory.
- Work with the distribution of uniform items for newly hired employees, including sorting by size and type of uniform.
- Oversee new and used uniform inventory from employees and local vendors, tracking inventory through a database.
