Emergency Medicine Clinical Nurse Specialist

This position is 90% admin, education, outreach and mentoring. The schedule is full-time Monday-Friday, weekends as needed (rarely needed), no holiday and no call. The hospital is Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, located in Wichita, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced care, consultation, research, management and education in a specific clinical area.
• Great opportunity for an advanced provider with an Emergency Medicine background who loves to teach, share their knowledge and help other clinicians grow.
• Work directly with the CNO to support the Service Line Directors.
• Provide advanced direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Serve as an expert consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Contribute to defining, directing and evaluating the nursing care and functions of clinical staff.
• Manage clinical research projects in support of evidence-based practice and disseminate findings.
• Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
• May assess the learning needs of patients and families and develop and/or implement teaching programs.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Education:
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required and Master's degree required.
