Avionics Manufacturer Seeks Experienced Certification Engineer

Avionics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Certification Engineer. Certification Engineer tests and certifies electrical equipment to support FAA TSO, STC and PMA activities. The Certification Engineer will manage the entire certification process from start-to-finish; this includes coordinating/interfacing with engineering staff, scheduling testing/test facilities, completing testing and authoring test reports to meet committed project schedules.

Essential Duties:

• Authoring certification test plans and test reports
• Executing test plans/programs to verify compliance to regulatory and quality requirements
• Coordinating activities with external test labs/resources
• Assisting with prototype build and evaluation
• Designing, building, and specifying equipment necessary for testing products
• Evaluating new technology components and designs to improve certification testing
• Providing test support for production as required

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from accredited university preferred
• EET or similar considered
• Minimum of five years relevant experience required
• Direct experience with industry, regulatory, and/or military standards/specifications required
• Familiarity/experience with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-311 and FAA TSO highly preferred
• Adept at using Oscilloscopes, DVMs, data acquisition and other electrical test equipment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interface with production personnel, engineering, management, external test facilities required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) required
