Lead Software Engineer - Foundational Core Team, Java

In this role, you will help set the technical direction of our Java platform, drive consistency across teams, and contribute to a streamlined and modern development experience. You will be part of the Foundational Core Team – a newly formed, service-oriented group dedicated to supporting the entire Java department by building tools, frameworks, and shared libraries in close collaboration with other enabler teams.

Your tasks and responsibilities in the job include:

• leading the adoption of new technologies and aligning solutions with our strategy
• creating and maintaining coding guidelines, including CheckStyle and SpotBug plugins, to support consistent development
• building and updating shared libraries to reduce duplication and speed up delivery
• improving development tools and maintaining core infrastructure
• supporting agile teams by offering guidance and sharing best practices
• suggesting and developing new tools to improve our ways of working

We are looking for a new colleague who:

• has strong skills in Java & Spring Boot, and understands object-oriented design
• has experience with modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• has a proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams
• communicates clearly and works well with others
• is motivated to improve development processes and drive technical improvements
• takes ownership and delivers high-quality solutions
